I want to fell or prune a tree in my garden, do I need permission?

Some trees are protected by law. This is either in the form of a Tree Preservation Order (TPO) on a specific tree, or group of trees, or you may live in a Conservation Area. When providing a quote for tree work or hedging we will check with your local authority to determine if your trees are protected.

If your trees are protected, TreeTmenT Specialist Tree Services can submit the application to the local authority on your behalf. Permission to carry out tree work on a TPO tree can take up to 8 weeks to be approved but usually it takes less than 3 weeks. Permission to undertake tree work on a tree within a Conservation Area can take up to 6 weeks, however it also only usually takes 3 weeks.

If you think your tree is unsafe then TreeTmenT Specialist Tree Services can undertake a visual tree assessment. If we deem it unsafe, we can issue a "5 day notice" to the local authority. This allows us to remove the tree or dangerous limbs after only 5 days.

Do you charge for quotations?

No, we provide free no obligation, transparent and detailed quotations and not estimates. This means the price we quote is the price you pay. Additionally, we do not ask for payment until the customer has inspected and approved the finished work.

What are your payment terms?

We accept cheque, bank transfer and cash payments within 14 working days from the date of invoice. Should customers require more flexible payment terms we are happy to accommodate them upon request.
